More than thirty five companies have participated in the Alexa Annual Job Fair which held at Mirage Hall, Alexandria.

These companies covered different business sectors; medical, engineering, banking, HR, media and more.

In addition to this, there were three recruitment companies, Jobzella, Target and Tawzef. Their presence allowed opening more doors for different types of jobs.

HR Revolution Magazine was presented by an energetic team as a Career Consultant that helped improve the quality of the applied CVs by giving face to face consultations on interview tips, any needed skills that an applicant needs them to build their career and helping edit CVs.

In the light of that, we ran some interviews during the fair with the job hunters and the companies representatives to highlight the market needs.

The main question that the companies representatives were asked: “Are the job hunters applying for jobs that are relative to their majors or work experience or they applying for any job?”

  1. Name: Ms. Neveen Nabil ~ HR Manager at Wadi Degla Clubs

After asking her the main question,

-Ms. Neveen: Most of the applicants are applying for what is relative to their majors or work experience.

-The interviewer: How does the HR deal with the CVs that do not specify the seeking job?

-Ms. Neveen: Wadi Degla Clubs co. is establishing its first club in Alexandria. Consequently, we have plenty of vacancies that can accommodate such kind of Cvs. We are taking certain steps:

  1. Determine priorities
  2. Run an initial interview
  3. Write our priorities on each CV

Finally, this event helps us build a good database

  1. Name: Ms. Marwa Moustafa ~ HR Supervisor at Ship & Crew

-Ms. Marwa: Most of applicants do not apply for a certain job especially school of arts, political science and commerce graduates. They need lots of guidance and advice.

-The interviewer: Do they have the needed skills for these vacancies?

-Ms. Marwa: Not all of them are qualified enough for the offered job ads they do not have a background about what they are applying for it.

-The interviewer: Which group(s) of graduates are applying for what is relative to their majors or work experience?

-Ms. Marwa: Engineers are at the top. On the other hand, school of science have an issue with the application. Most of the offered jobs are not relevant to their major. We give them pieces of advice like do some market research; company needs, company nature and the company fields.

Finally, currently we are offering specific vacancies , but we keep the rest for any future openings.

  1. Mr. Mohamed Ragheb ~ Senior Business Developer at Tawzef

-Mr. Mohamed: the percentage of the fresh graduates is high this year.

-The interviewer: What is the group of graduates that is applying for their relevant major or work experience?

-Mr. Mohamed: the engineers. However, the accounts are applying for different fields i.e. customer service.

-The interviewer: How do you deal with this issue?

-Mr. Mohamed: We usually look at each CV specifically the qualification and skills part.

-The interviewer: If an applicant does a career shifting, we look at their skills and experience in the new field. Many applicants are applying for HR position with no experience or skills in that field.

-The interviewer: What do you do in that case?

-Mr. Mohamed: we advise him or her to take courses as a first step
